Eagle Bend Manufacturing Facility

Clinton, Tennessee

This project added 28,000 SF for high bay stamping for two new hot forming press lines as well as 191,000 SF for laser and welding assembly and finished good storage.

C2AE designed the addition over an active assembly cell, phasing a new electrical platform to upgrade primary electrical distribution without disrupting production. The new space was constructed next to an existing pre-engineered building by creating a special drainage area between the two structures.

Modifications to the existing Hot Stamp 4 high bay area included a new press pit, electrical and controls mezzanines, and utility trenches. The low bay coil storage areas were reconstructed to meet required assembly heights. Fifteen truck docks were added for shipping and receiving. Mechanical/electrical modifications included distributing power from the 13.2 kV medium voltage to new and updated substations for equipment/general use, interior and exterior lighting modifications, new HVAC for the assembly area and press bay using heat energy recovery from the hot stamp process, and compressed air and chilled water systems extensions.
